What is Chiropractic?
The word “chiropractic” comes from the Greek words cheir (hand) and praxis (action) and literally means “done by hand.” Chiropractors primarily perform gentle adjustments to the spine or other joints of the body to correct alignment problems, restore proper function of the nervous system, thereby supporting the body’s natural ability to reduce pain and heal itself. Since the body has a remarkable ability to heal itself and to maintain its own health, the primary focus of chiropractic care is to simply remove restrictions which interfere with the body’s normal healing ability.
Instead of prescribing drugs or performing surgeries, it is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the nervous system, treatments of the spine and joints, along with therapies and lifestyle changes to allow the body’s natural potential of health to fully express itself. The chiropractic approach to healthcare is holistic, meaning that it addresses your overall health. It recognizes that many lifestyle factors such as exercise, diet, rest, and environment impact your health. For this reason, chiropractors recommend changes in lifestyle, eating, exercise, and sleeping habits in addition to chiropractic care.

Spinal Traction (AKA The Roller Table)
Described as a deep tissue massage and loved by many! Intersegmental traction is an effective chiropractic therapy that induces passive motion into the spine for the purpose of stretching spinal joints and increasing mobility. Intersegmental traction helps to gently and effectively reestablish normal range of motion to your spine.
Electrical Muscle Stimulation
Electrical stimulation is a type of modality used to accomplish various results. If you have an injury or condition that causes pain or limited functional mobility, electrical stimulation, or E-stim can be used, as one part of your rehabilitation program. Conditions in which e-stim is used may include, low back pain, post-surgical pain, muscle weakness or poor motor control, Tendonitis, and Bursitis.
Soft Tissue Rehab
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation (IASTM) is a form of soft tissue rehab. IASTM utilizes a specially designed stainless steel instrument to specifically detect and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue adhesions and/or scar tissue. The instrument glides along a patient’s muscle, tendons or ligaments, with the right amount of pressure to detect “knots” or bands of scar tissue. The instrument can then be focally used to “break” up this restriction or adhesion creating a focal inflammatory response. This inflammation causes the absorption of scar tissue, the recruitment of new cells and the production of new collagen fibers to repair the injury site.
Spinal Decompression
Nonsurgical spinal decompression is a type of motorized traction that helps relieve back pain. Spinal decompression works by gently stretching the spine. That changes the force and position of the spine. This change takes pressure off the spinal discs, which are gel-like cushions between the bones in your spine, by creating negative pressure in the disc. As a result, bulging or herniated discs may retract, taking pressure off nerves and other structures in your spine. This in turn, helps promote movement of water, oxygen, and nutrient-rich fluids into the disks so they can heal. Conditions treated included; back or neck pain or sciatica, bulging or herniated discs or degenerative disc disease, facet syndrome, spinal stenosis or spondylosis.
